Born in Seattle, I grew up in Dresden, Germany, where I never took an interest in school or academics and focused most of my energy on playing sports, traveling and various other hobbies. It wasn’t until attending high school in the US, that I discovered my passion for mathematics, physics and the natural world. I am now a senior completing my undergraduate degree at Yale College in the Applied Math major. While still passionate about pure math, I am motivated to apply my knowledge to solve real world issues. I’m thrilled to have found such an opportunity in the Grubaugh lab, and will be focusing my work on analysis of COVID data. When I’m not working, I’m probably watching movies, playing tennis and poker, or injuring myself on a skateboard.
